Eating lots of sugary or fatty foods is linked to an increased risk of early death, according to new research.

Why are ultra processed foods so bad for us?

For one, they are "ready-to-eat-or-heat industrial formulations that are  made with ingredients extracted from foods or synthesized in  laboratories, with little or no whole foods,"

These overly processed foods are often high in added sugars and salt,  low in dietary fiber, and full of chemical additives, such as artificial  colors, flavors or stabilizers
